When you begin your career teaching at the elementary, middle, or high school level in a public school, your students won’t have to pay to come to school, and they’ll be required by law to be there. Further, your salary, the building in which you teach, your materials and supplies, and even the buses that transport students to and from school will be supported with public funds, funds derived from federal, state, and local taxes.
