Using Monroe’s motivated sequence from Chapter 15, create 5-6 minute video presentation featuring you and your visual aid.

This means your speech will naturally be organized into the following five sections:

An Introduction (containing an attention getter, your thesis statement and a preview of points)

A three section body which will consist of: The problem, The solution, and The visualization

A Conclusion

Remember, the same technology options are open to you for the persuasive speech. This includes using MyCourses (either recording the video on your computer and adding it to the discussion thread or attaching an already recorded video file from your computer). You can also add your video to YouTube and share a hyperlink. I have re-pasted the instructions for each below. You only need to upload to this Dropbox if a Powerpoint, Google slides, or Prezi presentation is part of your speech video. In case any of the images are difficult to make out in your speech video, I like to have the actual PowerPoint or Google slides files to see.

1. Using what you’ve learned in textbook Chapter 15, create an electronic visual aid. Suggestions for format include: Microsoft Powerpoint, Prezi, or Google Slides.

More specifically:

Keep it simple
28 point or larger font
Keep text to an absolute minimum. Photos, video clips (no more than 30 seconds total for the whole presentation, charts, and graphs are ideal)
Use contrast
Use bullet points with short phrases (not paragraphs)
Include photos with photo credits (if the photo is already watermarked, this is already done for you)
