ACTIVITY 09: GLOBAL HEALTH FACT SHEET* A fact sheet is an informational handout that concisely summarizes important pieces of information about a certain topic rather than a formal style paper. For this activity, you will work in groups of 2-3 to create a fact sheet (1 page) on a Global Health issue from Chapter 8 or 9. Your group will present your fact sheet in class on Thursday. Please include the following information on your fact sheet: Name and description of the condition (e.g., tuberculosis, cholera, HIV, syphilis) what causes it? How is it transmitted? Signs and symptoms? The population(s) impacted – where is it found? how many people are infected/affected? who is susceptible? disparities among populations? Is the condition curable? treatable? A minimum of two programs or initiatives in place to address the situation or improve the problem. How could a person infected/affected find help or additional information on the topic?
