Assignment 2 Task
The U.S. Supreme Court is the highest Court in the land. Its decisions are binding throughout the United States. Its members serve life-time appointments and usually leave the court only due to death or a personal decision to retire.
Describe the process by which a Supreme Court Justice is replaced (Remember to elaborate on all the key steps that are taken).
Think of, and explain three changes you would make in the nominating & confirmation processes.
Why do you propose these changes? In other words, how would your proposed changes make the process better and, therefore, work better for the country?
Also, select three major Supreme Court cases, including one from the Marshall Court era (1801-1835). Provide a brief historical background of why each of these three cases came before the Court.
Explain how the decision of the Court was/is impactful on the United States. Remember to state why you believe that each of these three cases were so important.
Do you agree with the Court’s decision or ruling in each of these three cases? Why or why not? Make your case.
