Alley is a 27-year-old nursing student who, states she is overwhelmed since adding nursing school to an already busy schedule. Alley is a go getter and appears to be healthy. She begins her day at 0430. Feeling exhausted she manages to get out of bed for two hours of schoolwork before having to feed her two-year-old twin girls. She is also wife to Jack who is an airman but is currently deployed. After feeding and dressing the twins, Alley drops them off to daycare. While driving to her 8am class on campus she stops by Starbucks for her favorite sugary latte. She is in class from 8am to 1pm four days a week. Doing this time, she snacks on salty chips, mms, and soda. Every day after class she meet with her study group in the student center for three hours where she usually has a burger and fries or whatever fast-food item is available. On her way to get the twins from daycare she enjoys a cup of coffee to boost her energy. Once home she spends time with the twins before putting them to bed around 8pm. Her next hours are spent preparing for the next day. She tries and get an hour or two in of studying before midnight. Although she takes melatonin and occasionally Benadryl. If she’s lucky, she gets 5 hours of sleep. Her weekends are consumed with clinical 12-hour clinicals, catching up on class work, and spending time with her overly energetic twins. Alley is sometimes consumed with saddens and questions her desire to continue school.
