The mission is to address some of humanity’s most pressing challenges. The MDGs set a comprehensive agenda aimed at eradicating the challenges affecting the population, between them eradicating poverty, promoting education, ensuring gender equality, and combating disease. Isabela Enriquez MDGs Through the years 2000 In September 2000 during the Millennium Summit, the global commitment to create a more equitable and sustainable world was set with a due year of 2015. A roadmap was created for action, policymakers, and activists to improve the lives of billions of people. Isabela Enriquez 2005 2008 Proposals were outlined in the March 2005 World Summit by Secretary-General Kofi Annan in his report “In Larger Freedom”. Partnership events took place during the week of High-level Event of September 2008. The events exceeded the expectations of the organizers as it generated an estimate of $16 billion of which 1.6 billion was destined to secure food, 4.5 billion for education, and 3 billion to combat malaria. MDGs Through the years 2010 The Summit on the Millennium Development Goals in 2010 endorsed several initiatives were unveiled aimed at tackling the pertinent issues of the population.
