Write a paper that 1) describes the controversy you’ve selected;
and 2) explains and evaluates how each side makes historical claims (either
explicitly or implicitly) in their arguments. How are these sides using evidence?
How are they interpreting that evidence?
Use a minimum of two authoritative sources not including lecture or reading
materials l’ve provided (stronger papers will use more). Avoid sources that have
no named author including Wikipedia and encyclopedias. For an explanation of
