ASSIGNMENT SHEET FOR THE NON-RESEARCH-BASED ARGUMENT ESSAY
(15% of course grade)
This unit, we’ll be writing an argument essay on a topic you choose from the following list:
Topic options from The New York Times.
Using your chosen topic as a jumping-off point, you will write a argument essay. Your essay should contain a minimum of 5 paragraphs, and your essay’s body should offer at least three major reasons to support your argument’s claim.
Please make your argument using your own original ideas, examples, observations, and reasoning to support your central claim. No research allowed!
Your finished product will be an organized essay with a clear thesis and plenty of details and examples that support this thesis.
