The field study is an important sociological tool where one can observe human behavior either by creating, supporting, or challenging established theories. In this case, I want you to spend some time in a public place witnessing gendered behavior. It can be in a park, playground, train station, bar, meeting, mall, etc. Take notes on what you observe. Do you witness heteronormative behavior, gender stereotypes, relational power dynamics, and non-conforming gender? Write down your observations, and use the course material to critically analyze them.
