For this essay, you’ll be placing yourself in the conversation and offering a description of the social constructs that have had the most influence on you. You may choose one social construct and explore various experiences with that construct, or you may select multiple social constructs and examines the different impact they had on you.
This essay should be a mix of academic writing and personal narrative. The academic writing will help you build context and help you establish a sense of credibility on the discussion of the social constructs you examine, but your retelling of personal experiences will ultimately give your writing a higher value.
*A social construct that has had an impact on me is gender and being a tall (6’3″) black young woman.
