In this assignment, you will find examples of digital art and create a representation of what you find. You can create your representation by either writing an analysis paper using the Analysis Paper Assignment Details below, or you can choose to create a visual essay using the Visual Essay Assignment Details below. The choice is yours.
Begin your research by looking for at least five representations of digital art. These can be found in games, signs, interactives, icons, websites, smart phone interfaces, etc. Take notes on what you find that include where you found them and what they represent.
Option 1: Analysis Paper Assignment
In your analysis paper, include in written form the following for each of your five piece of digital art:
Description or picture
Location where you found the piece
What type of digital art it represents
- How it fits into the concepts we have studied in the course so far (genre, historical representation, etc.)
- The role it plays in the media industry (gaming, interface design, advertisement, etc.)
- What it means to you in terms of what you have learned in this course so far
