Let’s put some information together.
For this assignment, you are going to put some information together from previous assignments and submit a written document with your findings. You will need to do more research on one of the Careers you chose and provide answers to the following questions.
What is the average starting salary for one of your career options? Remember you can use several sources such as Career Coach, CA Career Zone, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics
What level of education is needed for this career? (Associate, Bachelor’s, Graduate degree, etc.)
What is the average cost of this level of education? It may help to pick one or two schools to explore on CA Career Zone or on their individual websites. (For example, SDSU) Take a look at the tuition at that school per year and multiply it by how many years would be required to complete the level of education needed. (AA – 2 years; BA – 4 years; MA – 6 years; Doctorate – 8 years)
According to your textbook, what would be an appropriate amount of debt to have for this education? (Hint – see section 10.5 of your textbook)
- Based on the expenses you plan to have (car, house, utilities, vacations, fun money), do you feel that this career will be able to support your lifestyle? If so, that’s great, but explain why. If not, what changes can you make that will allow you to live a more comfortable lifestyle?
