Complete your Thesis and Annotated Bibliography assignment. This assignment has two parts but should be completed in the same word document.
Topic: Compare and contrast the difference between the 2 restaurants “Chocolate Cheesecake Factory and Applebee”. Why is one better than the other.
Thesis – Provide a brief (no more than 2-3 paragraphs overview of what you plan to
argue in your paper. This should include information from your readings and should
include the criteria: practical, ethical, aesthetic (see your reading/viewing assignments)
that you plan to argue from. Then provide me a working copy of your thesis in full
sentence form. This should fully outline your evaluation argument. For example:
“disposable drinking straws are bad because they damage the environment.” Your papers
must use at least one of the three criteria listed in your reading but can use more than one.
You can also use these criteria to evaluate and then compare more than one item. For
example, the Shinedown Version of Simple Man is better than the Lynryd Skynryd
version because it has more views and better acoustic sound. In this example, you are
using practical (statistics) and aesthetic (sound) criteria.
In all cases, you will need to use sources to support your claims. You cannot simply say
something is bad or good, or better or worse. You need to cite examples. And this is where your
annotated bibliography comes in.
Annotated Bibliography – within the same document as your thesis, create a page
break and start your bibliography. Using the reading on annotated bibliographies and
your readings/viewing about APA formatting, create an annotated bibliography for the
sources you plan to integrate into your paper. Your bibliography must include at least the
five minimum sources and either an evaluative or summary annotation (see your
reading). The page should be formatted to comply with the most recent APA formatting
rules
