  1. compile your information from Part 2, and together come up with a creative idea for a podcast.  Be sure to identify your target audience for the podcast (e.g. general public, anthropologists, students- elementary, high school, college, etc).   DO NOT COPY/PASTE FROM PARTS 1 NOR 2- doing so will lead to a failing grade. The podcast should be original content based on your previous research.  Approximately 8-10 minutes in length.
  2. Creativity is encouraged – don't just read your report! Consider things like: a David Attenborough-style documentary commentary, an interview with a primatologist, the riff on the Dog Whisperer, etc.

Summative Paragraph

I observed Pan Troglodytes, more commonly known as Chimpanzees at the Lincoln Park Zoo. The chimpanzees had black coarse hair but had bare faces, hands, and legs. I noticed a few things about the chimpanzees and realized just how sociable the chimps really were. From my research, I noticed that chimps live in groups with more adult males and females and during the primate observation research, I noticed that the chimps really did stay together a lot more than expected. I primarily observed the 3 most active and present primates amongst the 5. Cashew was much hairier and had a little more hair on areas that were bare on the others. She was also known for having the largest and most extravagant nest. Hank seemed old and had white hair among his black hair. He was calm and did not do much, but he stopped Optimus and another chimp, Kathy, from fighting. Optimus had a very noticeable bald spot on his wrist. He was the most active of all the chimps running around playing and getting incredibly involved with observers.

During my observation, I noticed that the adult Male and Female did not necessarily interact with one another, but they did pay more attention to the juvenile while it was interacting with other observers present. The adult male seemed quite tired and showed a greater sense of responsibility amongst all the chimps present. When the chimps were fed, they did not all go to eat but the juveniles were excited to eat. The females were mostly either grooming, resting or out of view throughout the observation period. The major difference between the sequences of the chimps was mostly the females kept to themselves most of the time, but they did have several interactions, The Juvenile male was very energetic and moved around a lot more and the adult male was more responsible and calm.
