PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY!!!! I also attached a pdf of the instructions if it’s easier to read off of the PDF. I also included my two short assignments that you will need to use in order to write this. I will give two days for the assignment, but I will want a rough draft by tomorrow to see if it’s on the right track and I make sure I receive it and it’s correct when the 2 days is up.
Length: The length of your work should be approximately six pages
Goal: Describe an abstract idea or concept and support it with evidence.
Writing tasks: connecting personal experiences or observations to a larger idea; describe and discuss a concept or an idea with external sources
In two short assignments of sequence 1, you have described your travel experience/chosen spot and your language experience and we will conclude this sequence by describing an abstract idea or concept such as beauty, health, humor.
The key point of this writing project is to organize and use both your personal experience and external sources to illustrate your chosen idea/concept.
There are multiple ways to accomplish the goal of this project.
1.You may consider composing an analytic essay which compare your concept with other versions you have read in other contexts. However, rather than doing a simple
comparison/contrast with these other versions, you should engage these concepts—that is, really work with these ideas and think about how they inform your understanding, how you agree or disagree with these ideas, how they help you to understand something new
2. You may also consider completing your work by focusing on your personal experience(s) in relation to different characteristics of that idea/concept. Remember to include external sources as supplementary materials to support your writing since you are required to include both your personal experiences and external sources in your project.
Please include a writer’s memo following your work.
The memo is expected to be longer which should be around 2 – 3 paragraphs. In the memo you can describe your purpose and strategy in writing this project and ask any questions about the writing that you may have yourself. This is your opportunity to provide some context for the writing but also a chance to ask your reader directly about the effectiveness of the work.
Recall that we are using a portfolio system to grade your writings. Therefore, when you are working on this project, make sure to keep:
All planning, brainstorming, and research notes or worksheets
All drafts of your project
All feedback you received, from me and your peers
They will be included as a part of portfolio 1 with a writer’s memo and the final draft of this project.
Regarding the submission of this project, you only need to submit a writer’s memo and the first draft of this project.
Portfolio will be due separately a few days after you submitted the project.
Please confirm to formatting requirements below:
