COURSE OBJECTIVES: At the end of the class, the student should be able to identify and/or discuss: 1. Describe emerging perspectives on ethics and corporate governance. 2. Identify and describe the needs-based perspectives on motivation. 3. Relate motivation and employee performance. 4. Discuss the nature of creativity and relate it to decision making and problem solving. 5. Describe the types and uses of power in organizations. 6. Define “organization culture” and explain how it affects employee behavior and understand its historical roots.
POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS/PAPERS
Each student is to prepare a 3 page paper. For your topic, you may choose any one of the 6 objectives on the first page of the syllabus. From the paper, you are to develop a PowerPoint presentation consisting of at least 12 slides not including the cover slide and the reference slide. The topic of your PowerPoint presentation will come from the project paper. I encourage you to be creative in developing you presentation. Your paper needs to adhere to APA 6th guidelines. You will need a cover page and reference page (not included in the 3-5 pages). You are required to have at least four references for your paper. Your book can count as one. You need to ensure that your in-text citations and references are formatted according to APA 6th guidelines. This project is worth 200 points (Paper 100 points & presentation 100 points).
