This assignment is called a “Translation Visual”. The goal is to create a visual that translates a complicated topic into simpler layman’s terms.
1. Find any research or academic article (just 1) describing what climate change is and what can be done to prevent it, etc.
2. Select an audience who does not know much, if at all, about this topic (e.g. middle schoolers, the elderly, etc.). The goal is to, again, translate the technical ideas and/or procedures of the topic to make it understandable for the audience.
3. Create a 3-slide PowerPoint.
*IMPORTANT* things to keep in mind. The rubric specifies the following:
– This assignment wants less writing, and more visuals/designs. Please limit each slide to a reasonable amount of words (about a paragraph worth of bullets give or take).
– Make sure the powerpoint is made with whatever audience you choose in mind.
– The translation visual uses strong visuals and graphic elements to support its presentation of information.
-The translation visual exhibits a clear professional style.
– The visuals used should help aid to explain any technical terms described in the writing.
– As with any PowerPoint, be sure to make it look presentable and aesthetically pleasing. Since the topic is climate change, feel free to include any earth or science-y related decorations to the slides.
– Provide the link to the article used as your reference and let me know which audience you chose as your basis for this ppt.
