Discussion Questions:
Part 1. Explain if medical professionals or politicians are better at communicating a public health/bioterrorist event to the public and what can occur if they fail to do so successfully.
Part 2. Elaborate on who, as well as why, is more important to the public: the leader of the nation (i.e., the President), a senior public health official (i.e., the Secretary of Health), the state governor, the locally elected individual, or a private, non-government subject-matter expert.
Part 3. Describe whether the information needs to be provided to the public as quickly as possible or if it is better to delay providing any information until it is clearly the correct information, regardless of how long it takes to obtain it.
Part 4. Discuss how the convergence of physical and cyber systems, as well as the emerging vulnerabilities of exploitation, can impact the public’s thoughts/beliefs about our nation’s sustainability.
