According to Davis, the ‘threat’ of Zombification in Haitian Culture is “one way to maintain order”. On the other hand, Mukherjee (2021) argues that ‘individual cognition’ of social, cultural and political processes plays a big role in the construction of the self and the other. Using the cultural concept of Haitian Zombification as an analogy and other content from the videos and readings in this class, you will be writing an argumentative summary to demonstrate how concepts such as God, Glory, Gold and/or lack of knowledge are or have been applied to deprive (or in some cases punish) subjects of their humanity or dignity.
