Write a reflection on the case scenario in the Overview on pg. 348 in the Understanding Patient Safety textbook. Include your thoughts from the perspective of the provider, the patient, and the patient’s family and answer the following questions:
• Do you feel the provider was justified in the decision to wait for intubation?
• Given the principles you have learned in the readings this week, how should this case be handled by the malpractice system?
• What alternative approaches could be used to litigation in this case?
This 1-2 page paper should be written following current APA style guidelines. Additional scholarly references are encouraged, but not required.
