Week 1 Journal

[WLO: 4] [CLOs: 1, 3]

In the Behavior Risk Factors (Case Study) discussion this week, we learned about several different risk factors, which are supported by research, and linked to challenging behavior. Along with these factors, there are usually different ideas that society may suspect are impacting a child’s behavior. One of the most debated topics today is whether or not the influence of media is leading children to experience an increase in behavioral issues. In your journal this week, you will explore this idea and share your thoughts on this topic.

To prepare for this journal,

In your journal,

  • Summarize the main points of the two articles you read.
  • Describe your stance as to whether or not media is leading children to experience more behavioral issues. In other words, describe your view related to the topic.
  • Explain how this information will support your work with children with challenging behaviors.
