Jennifer Sanderson is a 35 year old female from Barrie, Ontario, that has recently been admitted on a form 1 to your mental health floor. 10 days ago Jennifer’s home was destroyed by a tornado. Jennifer and her children were safe and out of the area visiting her parents, but her husband unfortunately passed away during the disaster. Her parents brought her to the hospital where she presented in the ER stating, “It doesn’t matter anymore. I’m going to end it all.” Here on the unit Jennifer presents with a labile affect, is irritable and guarded with staff, hasn’t been eating or sleeping well, and when asked to describe her feelings she is quick to anger.
