As a part of investigating the characteristics of being a Christian disciple, you will have an opportunity to explore the life of a Christian writer/thinker that contributed to the body of classical Christian literature.

In a short (five to ten minute) oral presentation, you will share your research with the class, offering what you learned about the person’s life and historical context. Your presentation should focus primarily on the spiritual disciplines and/or practices that were important to the person and how those spiritual disciplines helped shaped his or her faith, thinking, and writing. You may select any author from the 2,000 years of Christian history, though writers from the first couple centuries are encouraged.

Please focus your talk primarily on the spiritual disciplines and practices this person exercised regularly rather than the person’s accomplishments. Our goal is not to simply learn what that person accomplished; rather, our goal is learn from that person some ways we can become more influential while following our own call.
