Using guided tasks related to personnel, and human resource the candidate will complete the steps necessary to recruit for an instructional position in their current schools.
Recruitment Efforts (Job Description & Flyer):
Write a description of a teacher vacancy (including grade level, expected student demographics, classroom characteristics, and selection criteria for ideal teacher candidate).
Write a description of the hiring school context (including grade level construction, historical performance, student and staff information, and other pertinent school traits).
Recruitment Reflection: Write a description of where you would advertise the job and why you choose that platform.
Create a flyer advertising the teacher vacancy position (in PDF format).
Selection of Criteria (Interview Scoring Rubric & Interview Questions):
Identify critical knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics of an effective teacher candidate.
Create an interview scoring rubric based on the following characteristics and qualifications: personal, professional, experience, trainings, and certifications.
Develop a set of 6 situational and 6 behavioral interview questions derived from the following elements in the Framework of Effective Instruction: Knowledge of Learners, Learning Environment, Instructional Planning, Engagement, Instructional Delivery, and Assessment.
Upon completion of the guides tasks, each candidate will submit a copy of the job description, flyer advertising the position, recruitment reflection, interview scoring rubric, and interview questions. See sample of assignment submission provided by professor.
