Overview

The frequency of cyber fraud is of increasing concern to law enforcement. It is an arms race between police and criminals that demands criminal justice personnel fully understand the methods used by criminals and the tools used to combat them. In this activity, you are introduced to a fraud scenario and are asked to identify and describe a Records Management Systems (RMS) design to address it.

Complete the following on the Week 6 Activity Template for submission.

  • Identify two records management systems that are suitable for the requirements defined in the video brief. Each RMS should have, at a minimum, the following capabilities:
    • Crime Mapping.
    • Data Analytics.
    • Database Queries with search parameters such as name, address, phone number, known associates, et cetera.
    • Social Media Data Mining.
    • Police Records Management System.
  • Compare the two RMSs to identify their significant similarities and differences. Support them with specific callouts.
