After reading the article “Do Grades Help Students Learn In Classroom” by Asao B. Inoue provide critical analysis essay.
The goal of this critical analysis essay is to identify and explain the author’s argument in the article and to provide your own argument about the author’s argument. When forming your own argument (thesis) about the article and the author, use textual evidence to support you critique and evaluate the effectiveness of the author (consider examples and word choice used in the article). The essay must have all parts/elements of a complete essay – Introduction with thesis statement, body paragraphs that support argument (thesis), and conclusion.
My thesis is “Grades are not an accurate representation of benefiting students in achieving more knowledge; in-fact it limits and results in having a negative effect on them by creating a fear of failure and pressure of getting things done as long as they can maintain a good grade. It impacts their true comprehension of a subject as well as causes loss of creativity, something that is meant to bring meaning into one’s educational journey”
