Write a strategic AI adoption Proposal for Aurora Insurance as described in the overview
Part 1: Strategic AI Recommendation (1,000 words)
Part 2. Part 2: Reflection on AI Use and Decision-Making (500 words)
Overview:
In this assessment, you will apply what you’ve learned about artificial intelligence—its types, capabilities, and risks—to evaluate how a real organisation could strategically adopt AI.
You will demonstrate your ability to assess feasibility, recommend a course of action, and reflect on how AI influenced your thinking. This includes engaging with the classifications of AI, exploring real-world applications, and using concepts such as the ‘Could we?/Would we?/Should we?’ framework and the AI hype cycle.
Background: Aurora Insurance
Aurora is a mid-sized insurance provider operating across Europe and North America. Known for its strong customer service and steady growth, Aurora is now under pressure to increase operational efficiency and innovate its product offering.
The leadership team is exploring how AI could be used to streamline claims processing, enhance fraud detection, personalise policy offerings, and improve customer support without compromising trust or regulatory compliance.
They have tasked you, as part of the internal strategy group, with developing a clear, actionable AI adoption proposal. The board is particularly interested in understanding not just what is possible but what should be done responsibly and strategically.
Your Task
Your submission should be approximately 1,500 words and include two parts.
Part 1: Strategic AI Recommendation (1,000 words)
Based on the capabilities of today’s AI (especially ANI and deep learning) and your understanding of machine learning types and use cases, write a strategic proposal for how Aurora should adopt AI in a specific function.
Your recommendation should include:
· A clear proposal for AI implementation (e.g. claims automation, fraud detection, dynamic pricing).
· An assessment using the ‘Could we?/Would we?/Should we?’ framework.
· Reference to one or more learning types (SL, USL, RL) or architectures (CNN, Transformer, GAN).
· Consideration of potential risks (e.g. bias, explainability, compliance).
Clear format and tone appropriate to one of the following:
· A board-level briefing
· An internal strategy memo
You may make reasonable assumptions (e.g. data availability, existing infrastructure), but be sure to state them clearly.
Part 2: Reflection on AI Use and Decision-Making (500 words)
Reflect on how you used AI tools to support your thinking. For example:
· Did you use AI to explore options, generate summaries, or test ideas?
· How did AI support (or limit) your strategic judgement?
· Where did human oversight and ethics shape your decisions?
· Finally, consider whether you see AI supporting your professional work beyond this programme—and in what ways.
