Continuing to build on understanding the background of author and audience, investigate the context of Paul’s letter to Philemon. Who are the main people referenced in the text, including the author? To what geographical place was this letter written? What were the circumstances which prompted the letter? What did the author want to have happen as a result of the letter? Provide your own commentary as to why you think this little letter was included in the New Testament canon.
