This assignment measures your mastery of ULOs 1.1, 1.2, and 4.1.

Assignment: Project Part 1

This course includes a main project that will span over four parts. Each part includes prompted information and together forms some sections for a quantitative research study. Each project will be expected in essay format following APA guidelines.

Research Question (RQ): Write a quantitative research question with two variables (variables must be in blue text) and label the independent and dependent variables if applicable. Create an illustration of your conceptual model similar to the illustration above.

Example RQ: What is the relationship between work-life balance and attrition?

Work-life balance is an independent variable.
Attrition is a dependent variable. Work-life balance affects attrition.

An employee’s attrition (employment turnover) depends on the employee’s perceived work-life balance. Therefore, attrition is the dependent variable and work-life balance is the independent variable. The model depicted above with the variables should illustrate the independent variable (IV) on the left and the dependent variable (DV) on the right.

Literature Review: Conduct a literature review of the two variables within your RQ. Using the CSU Online Library, locate and reference a minimum of five primary research peer-reviewed studies. Visit DWRC Ch2 Literature Review for information on writing a literature review. You may read the article by Dr. Gualco (see 12-2022 newsletter.pdf).
