WEEK 4 DISCUSSION (1) PROMPT Discussion 1: Post Your Working Thesis Statement and Sentence Outline Initial post (by 11:59 p.m. on Friday): Post your working thesis statement and sentence outline here. This sentence outline needs only four sentences: the thesis statement (this is one sentence) and three topic sentences that lay out your plan for supporting your thesis. Make sure that each topic sentence in your outline has a transition and uses words that tie it in with the thesis statement. Thesis Statement: The United States government should take Driving Under the Influence (DUI)s more seriously when it comes to military members by creating programs, educating members, and applying harsh punishments to prevent DUIs. • • • Topic Sentence 1: A program should be put in place that it utilized in all locations that military members are stationed. Topic Sentence 2: Quarterly educational courses should be completed by every military member to ensure they understand how to prevent DUIs. Topic Sentence 3: When a DUI does occur, military members should be given a harsh punishment and not just a slap on the wrist.
