Using the guiding research questions about a career you are interested in, complete your “Career Research Jot Notes” template. Your final paragraph must include three or four points from your jot notes (research data).
Remember that you will not include all the information you will have collected. Decide what information you would like to share with the reader. Next. use the notes to write a paragraph outline following the template provided below. The rubrics for part one are on pages 4 and 5.
Using your outline and jot notes, prepare a complete draft of your three-part paragraph that includes all required elements written in paragraph form. Next, revise your paragraph to make sure that it is organized well, that all the details that you include are relevant, and that your tone is informative and not persuasive. Finally, edit your revised draft to make sure that you have used the right verb tense at the right time; you have made subjects and verbs (and pronouns and antecedents) agree with each other; you have used resources available to ensure correct spellings; and, you have punctuated your sentences appropriately.
Using your edited and revised draft, publish a final information paragraph about your interviewee that shows: your understanding of information paragraph form; clear communication about your interviewee to make the reader feel connected to them: an intent to capture and maintain the reader’s interest; and, good control of standard Canadian English.
