ervice-based operations have surged over the past three decades due to economic growth around the globe. The United States, for example, has changed from a manufacturing-based economy to a service-based economy. Consider the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), which was passed under President Obama’s administration. The number of individuals now seeking medical care is constantly rising.

As an example, not a day goes by where we do not hear of wait-line problems for our military veterans seeking medical services at VA facilities.

Answer the discussion question below in reference to “Reduction of Wait Line Times.” Be sure to incorporate your own personal experiences into your responses: write as a military (Navy) veteran who has first-hand experience of the wait lines and times at the VA.
