Here are your are your parameters for your assignment:
Write a letter using the block style with inclusive language.
Make the letter professional — this should be a formal letter with formal language.
The letter should be at least three paragraphs.
You will be graded on formatting, but you must think in terms of the concepts we’ve discussed: your bias, language type, audience, etc. (see memo assignment for more info).
The letter should be no more than one page long.
The Memo
Your memo will be used to unpack the reasons why you wrote your letter the way you did. Here are your parameters:
Imagine that you are addressing the class — the “To:” field should be filled in with “ENW 301 Professor & Students.”
Write 3 paragraphs explaining how you used course concepts that we explored in previous chapters. This can be anything:
Audience
Purpose
Language
Bias
Inclusivity
Communication effectiveness
Writing process
Use formal memo format and address the group. I realize memo would not be used to “pronounce” something like this, but we’re improvising, and I’m looking for form.
You can use the first-person point of view.
